Things To Pack In Your Hospital Bag During Delivery
Posted in Parents To Be on Thursday, January 10th, 2013
You are soon to become a mother and are restlessly counting days for the little one to arrive. But now is also the time to gather together all the essentials you’ll need during labour and birth and for the new born. It’s a good idea to have a bag packed by the time you are about 36 weeks pregnant so that you are never caught unawares.
If you ask your friends and family, they will come up with their own list of suggestions about what to pack for your hospital bag. Remember, it is better to over-pack than leave out some essential items. Here are the basics you should definitely pack in your hospital bag.
Nightgown (Do check with your hospital if they provide their own)
Towel and Napkins
Book, novel, magazine, crossword etc. Something interesting to read that helps while away your time.
Mobile Phone and Charger
iPod (in case, you want to listen to music)
Nursing Bras (keep a few breast pads, just in case)
Sanitary napkins (Bring a couple of packs. Pack adult diapers for heavy flow)
Wet wipes, hand sanitizer
For the baby:
Few pairs of clothes (some prefer old worn out clothes that are soft to the infant’s skin)
Cloth nappies (in case the hospital doesn’t provide disposable ones or you are not comfortable using them on your new born)
Pair of Socks/Booties and Mittens
Sweater (if its winter)
Have we left out anything that you packed and found essential? Or is there anything on the list you don’t think a mum-to-be would need? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
